The result of the Congress and the main news for the Kazakhstan triathlon was the election of a new president of the federation.
Due to the expiration of their term of office, members of the Congress elected a new president and first vice president by open vote. By a unanimous decision of the assessors, Aldiyar Kaztayev was elected the new president of the Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation. Karim Masimov was elected Honorary President of the KTF. It should be noted, K.K. Masimov was elected president of the KTF in 2016, when the triathlon was considered a relatively young and not the most popular sport in our country. Under the leadership of Karim Masimov, the Kazakhstan triathlon has experienced a systematic and comprehensive development growth. In particular, the organization’s regulatory framework was improved, specialized committees were created to regulate the activities of the federation, friendly relations were established with the main international triathlon organizations (ITU, ASTC, Ironman (WTC)), accredited federations, branches and sections of the triathlon were opened on the basis of children and youth schools of the Olympic reserve in the regions, major international competitions were held under the auspices of ITU, ASTC, Ironman in Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent, republican triathlon events extended to all regions of the country, members of the national team showed good results at major international competitions, and advanced in the preparation of the qualification of coaches, the first methodical training materials developed. A series of competitions was also created - the TEMIRADAM Cup, which gave a great impetus to the development of the amateur triathlon. Perhaps the most significant achievements of the Kazakhstan triathlon during the leadership of K.K. Masimov may be called the following - the election of KTF representatives to the Executive Council and various committees of the Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC) with the right to vote and the formation of the Central Asian Triathlon Association (CATA), uniting the five national federations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
“To date, the Kazakhstan triathlon has successfully made a big breakthrough in its development. The Federation has made significant progress. We can say with confidence that this is the result of wise leadership and strong teamwork. It is a great honor and responsibility to lead the national federation. Traditions must be kept, providing our triathlon with solid and comprehensive growth. And I am going to make every effort for this. ”, Aldiyar Kaztayev said.
In addition, the Congress heard a report on the activities of the Federation over the past year and set goals for the upcoming Olympic season.
